In these photos I wanted to interact with the landscape. Using colored ropes and stones I draw directly onto the natural world. For me this was both a celebration of a place as it is, and a way to spend time in that place before adding the ropes or stones.  The gesture is at once ceremonial, descriptive, and augments the nature of that setting.
