Ionas Place

This series is a partial document of an extraordinary house, which juxtaposes objects and gardens in relation to inhabited space, reflecting the people who constructed it and live there. When I am there, I think of Orpheus, because you can enter through the garden, parting a curtain of vines to descend to the floor below ground level. There is no door. Just a space to cross through and below the vegetation. The approach is ceremonial and mysterious leading to a semi-dark space filled with curious objects and images with a life of their own.
